Governor of the Bank of England visits Biocomposites' State of the Art Facilities
Posted in March 2005
The Governor of the Bank of England, Mr. Mervyn King, visited Biocomposites on a recent visit to the UK regions. Mr. King received a tour of the biomedical company's new custom built clean room, manufacturing and sales and marketing facilities at Keele, Staffordshire.
Mr. King is pictured with Biocomposites' Managing Director, Stephen Bratt during discussions concerning the company's new "intelligent" bone grafting technology, Genex. Genex is a new synthetic matrix, developed by the company, with a unique surface chemistry that promotes early bone cell activity coupled with a "smartpore" structure that evolves in-situ to enable optimal vascularisation.
Mr. Bratt commented, "Mr. King's visit was encouraging for Biocomposites' workforce. We fully expect Genex to quickly become the leading synthetic bone graft therapy for surgeons seeking alternatives to autograft and allograft and it was particularly pleasing to have the opportunity to share Biocomposites' exciting research and development plans with Mr. King."
