Bilok®
Bilok is a synthetic calcium composite technology used for interference screws in the reconstruction of anterior and posterior ligaments and suture anchors for rotator cuff repairs.
Produced through a proprietary process, it delivers a uniform distribution of β tri-calcium phosphate particles, fully integrated into a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) matrix to maximise component integrity. Bilok utilises a low molecular weight and low crystalline PLLA for improved degradation times and hydrophilicity.
The Doubleplay® suture implant, manufactured from Bilok, is a novel, fully threaded anchor intended to reattach soft tissue to bone. The innovative 'eyeless' design eliminates the risk of eyelet breakage – a feature that is unique to screw-in anchors.
Bilok has the longest clinical pedigree of all calcium-based composite materials now entering the market.1
