European programme to research the regeneration of articular cartilage
Posted in September 2000

UK biomedical research and development company Biocomposites today announced the launch of a European programme to research the regeneration of articular cartilage.

Biocomposites' Managing Director, Stephen Bratt, revealed that the company has been successful in securing European funding for more than 2 million Euros to finance an initiative to develop three dimensional constructs involving a consortium of research partners.

Mr. Bratt added, "Biocomposites has developed a platform technology to synthesise a broad range of calcium-based biomaterials. Our technology will allow for the development of a range of scaffolds with an affinity for a range of human cells. We expect this research programme to enable further focus on the development of our absorbable technologies for tissue regeneration".
