Clinical particulars

A female patient aged 58 presented with a femoral fracture non-union, following failure of a fixation plate.

Treatment

An intramedullary nail was used to stabilise the site. The fracture site was decorticated and packed with Allogran-R granular bone graft.

Outcome

At 4 months post-operatively, satisfactory fracture consolidation was evident.

At 6 months post-operatively, there was radiographic evidence of fracture union and absorption of the graft material. The patient reported improved mobility.
